KWSFA warns Kwara govt against flouting FIFA Rules

The Kwara State Football Association has revealed plans to sanction clubs and other affiliated bodies that fail to adhere to regulations governing football administration, particularly in organised tournaments in the state.
This is contained in Saturday’s memorandum signed by Mohammed Agaka, the secretary of the organisation. The document viewed by select members of the media in Ilorin stipulates penalties such as the complete annulment of the competition, suspension, revocation of organisational licenses/rights, or the imposition of fines.
“All affiliates, organisations, clubs, private sectors, and government agencies are prohibited from hosting football competitions within Kwara State without the explicit consent and approval of the Kwara State Football Association.
“Any competition organised without our endorsement will be deemed null and void,” Agaka articulated in the communication distributed to pertinent entities, including the Kwara state government.
The memo was copied to the Secretary to the Kwara State Government, Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Kwara State Sports Commission (KSC), Kwara State Police Command, Department of State Services (DSS), and the General Secretary of the NFF.
KWSFA emphasised the necessity of issuing the stern warning following numerous instances of blatant disregard for the regulations, particularly among key stakeholders in the state’s football community.
“The objective is to ensure adherence to the rules and regulations of the Kwara State Football Association, as well as national/international football guidelines, and to uphold the standards and quality of competitions in the state, safeguarding the interests of players, officials, and stakeholders,” Agaka further elaborated.
